Powering The Britcar 24 Hour Race At Silverstone

 

Convergence recently joined forces with NEC to help sponsor one of the leading contenders in the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone on the 20th/21st September. The car is owned by the KTF Group and KTF Motorsport and Convergence were invited to sponsor the event by the Managing Director Ken Finneran.

We invited several key customers and suppliers to enjoy the atmosphere which started with qualifying on the Friday afternoon. The car, a Dodge Viper GT1, qualified in twelve position on the grid for the race which started on the Saturday at 4.30pm.

Director, Phillip Clayton-Smith who actually made up part of the pit-crew and was responsible for re-fuelling the car every hour has this to say –
"The event was absolutely fantastic although working as one of the pit-crew is certainly a bit of an eye opener. There seemed to be more fires than cars at one stage. In all seriousness, all clients and suppliers thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and the event was a huge success".

The car actually finished 3rd in class (GT1) so it was a job well done all round.
