PRESS RELEASE: Small Business of the Year 2007 Award
Convergence Communications – Small but perfectly formed...
Convergence Communications Ltd scooped the 'Small Business of the Year' Award at this year’s Newmarket Business Association Awards (NBA). The winners were announced at a gala dinner held in the Millennium Suite at Newmarket Racecourse on 14th December 2007.
The aim of the NBA Business Awards is to both highlight and celebrate the wealth and diversity of
business expertise in Newmarket and to reward the high standards attained.
The category that Convergence were nominated in was judged based upon a number of key criteria
including customer retention, marketing strategy, performance and growth; all of which Convergence
has excelled in.
Oliver Shevki, Joint Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted to have won this year's small business award. It is an independent accreditation of Convergences’ success and achievements over the past 4 years."
He continued: "It’s a mark of our commitment to providing leading telephony solutions & first class customer services and further validation of the hard work, dedication and loyalty of all the staff."
The award was presented to Convergence by Graham Abbey (Managing Director of Factotum Ltd)
whose company sponsored the award and Graham was equally as thrilled for Convergence.
“Having worked with Convergence for over 3 years now and experienced first-hand the effort and care they
provide as standard to their customers I was delighted when they were chosen to receive the Small
Business of the Year Award – it is great to see a local business setting the standards”
Emma Noel, Chairman of the NBA commented:
"Convergence thoroughly deserve this award having
demonstrated an outstanding level of service within their field. They are ever present at NBA events
and are constantly showing great support for the organisation."
Convergence Communications Ltd was originally founded in 2004 by 3 friends - Oliver Shevki, Phillip Clayton Smith and Lee Harrison. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength and now employs a team of 13 staff across sales, marketing and engineering.
Convergence has doubled its turnover year on year and predicts significant growth in 2008. As an NEC and Samsung reseller, Convergence has the ability to deliver telecoms solutions to small, medium and large sized business across the Country. The company has a wealth of experience in sales and engineering and this is one of the reasons why Convergence is the fastest growing telecoms company in the region.
Phillip Clayton-Smith added "We understand our customer’s needs which is one of the reasons why we have been so successful over the past 4 years."
These words are echoed by customers who demand reliability and high levels of support:
"Convergence Communications has worked with Lola for several years. Reliable communications are
essential to us and our confidence in Convergence's ability to deliver has been repeatedly justified.
They have consistently showed an outstanding degree of technical ability and, just as importantly, an exceptional level of customer service." Chris Caffyn, Manager – Lola Cars
